Ingredients
For Cake:
- 1 1/2 C. vegetable oil
- 2 C. sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 3 C. chopped apples
- 1 C. chopped nuts
- 3 C. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. salt
For topping:
- 4 TBSP. butter
- 1 C. brown sugar
- 1/4 C. milk
Ingredients
- Grease and flour a 9x13 pan.
- Sift dry ingredients together.
- Beat oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla together. Add dry mixture to wet ingredients. Beat in apples and nuts. Pour into baking pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for about one hour.
- Just before cake is done bring topping ingredients to a boil and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Remove cake from oven and stab top of cake with fork tines. Pour boiled topping over cake while cake is still hot.
